Collection: Noticing

What happens when we stop trying to identify what we see and simply begin to notice?

The Noticing Collection explores mindfulness through abstraction. Layers of color, texture, geometric forms, gestural marks and recurring circles compete for attention, disappear beneath one another and unexpectedly reemerge.

Influenced in part by the visual vocabulary of Mid-Century Modern abstraction, these mixed-media works balance structure with spontaneity—order with interruption, intention with discovery.

There is no single image to decipher and no prescribed meaning to find. Instead, each painting invites the viewer to wander: follow a line, notice a color, discover a buried shape, step back, move closer and look again.

Perhaps mindfulness doesn't always look peaceful. Sometimes it looks like paying attention.
